Position:                    Administrative/Accounting Assistant - Canada Summer Jobs

Contract:                    8 weeks long from the start date

Hours:                        35 hours per week

Rate of pay:               $14.00 per hour

Location:                   Petrolia, Ontario

 

Essential Duties:      

The successful candidate will work with administration and accounting departments. The Administration department is a resource to the Administration Office and to all other support locations for tasks such as creating and managing documents, preparing mailouts, and completing filing. The Administrative Assistant will greet visitors at reception, answer the phone and direct callers to the correct person, location, or department. As the Accounting Assistant, the individual will provide assistance to the Accounting Clerks with their regular on-going tasks such as data entry, monthly reconciliations, and filing. Special projects will also be assigned to the individual, such as helping with fundraising events like the annual LCDS Golf Tournament. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual looking to gain a variety of experience in a non-profit organization that thrives in a diverse workplace, balances multiple priorities, and has a professional manner.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Publisher considered an asset.
  • Have effective time management and organization skills.
  • Have capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Applicant must be friendly, outgoing and comfortable speaking and working with others.

Qualifications based on the funding requirements:

  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment
  • Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening
  • Must have reliable transportation
